You've Reached Sam
by Dustin Thao

Really good book, gotten into it

Aven Green Music Machine
by Dusti Bowling

In my defense, I only read this book because I've read the middle grade books that go with them and thought it looked cute. And it was! The illustrations are adorable and the story made me laugh out loud!

In Over Their Heads
by Margaret Peterson Haddix

This sci-fi story has some wonderful elements of a great mystery. The suspense just keeps building! In this sequel to Under Their Skin the POV changes in each chapter which allows for a deeper understanding of each character, making you form an attachment to each of them. It's brilliant!

Under Their Skin
by Margaret Peterson Haddix

I've never been a fan of sci-fi but this book captivated my interest from start to finish. It isn't fastpaced but it's full of suspense that's enough to keep you turning pages.

The Cursed Carnival And Other Calamities
by Rick Riordan

This is a pretty good collection of short stories, though some of them are a bit odd for my taste it includes some very compelling stories.

Northwind
by Gary Paulsen

I'm sad to say I couldn't make it through the first chapter. I really wanted to like this book but it was just a little dull for me, perhaps because it's below my lexile level.

The Neptune Project
by Polly Holyoke

I started reading The Neptune Project with low expectations, as it is not the sort of book I'd usually read, but the author Polly Holyoke blew me away with her stunning characters and compelling dystopian world. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough! It's a truly amazing book!

We Can Be Mended
by Veronica Roth

Wow this book was very sad! Definitely not for anyone who hasn't recently finished the Divergent series and maybe not even if you have because this is just.... wow. And a little ugh. So... read at your own risk. It's really good though, just emotional.

Menace From The Deep (killer Species #1)
by Michael P. Spradlin

An attention grabbing adventure filled with suspense! Compelling, well-developed characters with only occasionally boring, useless dialogue. Good for middle grade readers.

Terror At Bottle Creek
by Watt Key

This book was absolutely thrilling! It started off slow but kept my interest. The characters are compelling and unique. I'd recommend this book to anyone who loves a good adventure book centered on character vs. nature.
